Google

Google was founded in 1998 by Larry Page and Sergey Brin while they were studying at Stanford University in California.

Google was officially founded on September 4, 1998 in the garage of Susan Wojcicki, who later became CEO of YouTube.

The company's original name was BackRub, but it was renamed Google in 1997.

Since then, the company has expanded into many ventures beyond its origins as a search engine and advertising firm.

Today, Google is one of the largest companies in the world, with a focus on developing new software, hardware, and devices to aid businesses of all sizes and improve the lives of individuals worldwide, both online and offline.

The company is involved in a range of cutting-edge technologies, including machine learning, artificial intelligence, autonomous vehicles (self-driving vehicles), quantum computing, and drone delivery-technology.

Google also invests in undersea cable infrastructure, such as the Humboldt cable, to enhance global internet connectivity, particularly between regions like South America and the Asia-Pacific.

Google's mission is to organise the world's information and make it universally accessible and useful for everyone. The company is also involved in a number of partnerships and collaborations, such as its work with Neuralink to develop high-bandwidth brain implants that can communicate with phones, computers, and other hardware.
