I've been watching Free-View TV since its existence, and everyone had always said, "you 'need' an aerial to watch Free-View TV", but you don't.
This trick has been tried and tested in many different properties, using different TVs with built-in Free-view, as well as separate Free-View boxes with no problems at all and without the need for an internal or external aerial or dish.
A neighbour was about to contact their landlord to
install an aerial on the roof, and a socket in the front room to plug
the aerial into. I told him what I had been doing for years, and within
10 minutes using this trick, he was able to watch his new Free-View TV saving time, money and inconvenience.
All you need as a speaker cable, and my good old friend Blue-Tac.

Preparing The Speaker Cable
The speaker cable should be about 24 inches long. Speaker cables have two wires fused together. Split them in two because one cable strip works best. Then remove one inch of the plastic covering from each end. --> One to insert into the aerial socket. (as seen in image above). The other end to stick to the wall with Blue-Tac.

Fold the end of the cable 'wire' until it's thick enough to fit tightly into the inner tiny hole (left image) making sure the wires do not touch the larger outer ring. Use Blue-Tac to hold into place.

How To Tune In Your Channels
Once everything above is in place, turn on the equipment and switch to any channel.
Using the Blue-Tac which is attached near the other end of the cable, and like a doctor would do with a stethoscope to listen to heartbeats, stick it against the wall and move it around very slowly until you receive a signal.
Fine Tuning Tips
Sometimes I would get a signal, but as soon as I stepped away, or moved my hands off the Blue-Tac, the picture would be lost. Try again by re-tuning (moving) the position of the cable until you get a signal when you move away.
Try attaching the Blue-Tac to a lamp or ornament and move that around until you can receive a picture.
Moving the scart cable, or power lead cables will also help you tune in to your channels.
